
P. A. Testing or PATesting (Portable appliance testing) is the name given to the in-service repeats of the manufacturers' safety tests of electrical equipment. Business owners are required by Irish law to carry out P. A. Testing on all portable appliances. P. A. Testing is essentially a series of safety tests that are carried out on all electrical products within a business premises. Each individual appliance is then assessed on a pass or fail basis, and a certificate of P.A. Testing compliance is awarded.
